Sound in Film Openings

What is the Effect of Sound in a Film Opening?

  • It sets the mood
  • It establishes the era and time
  • The audience gets an idea of the genre of the film
  •  It sets the pace of the film
  • It sets the scene
  • Reflects the emotions and feelings of the characters
  • Dialogue :  - Establishes relationships
                       - Gives an insight to the characters thoughts

                       - Explains events

                       - Complements the situation

These are only a few types of sound in film openings amongst many others
